Questions to Ask Your Contractor

Sunshine Heating & Air Conditioning suggests that you refer to these questions before choosing your Air Conditioning Contractor.  Be aware that all Air Conditioning Contractors require a HVAC Contractors license to legally do business in the state of Florida.

All contractors are required to carry Workers Compensation and Liability insurance. Having work performed by a “Handy Man” or individuals without proper licensing may result in fines, lawsuits against you, and void your systems manufacturers warranty. Check with your local county for licensing before using any Contractor.

Questions to Ask

Q: Do you subcontract your installation or do you have your own crew?

  • A: Sunshine has our own installation crews, no sub contractors.

Q: Are you going to pull the required permit?

  • A: Sunshine Will.

Q: Do you provide Workmen’s Compensation Insurance for your employees?

  • A: Sunshine Does. (It’s the law.)

Q: Will you issue a lien waiver when the job is finished?

  • A: Sunshine will.

Q: Do you have an office, or phone I can call to reach your company 7 days a week?

  • A: Sunshine has a fully staffed building, office, warehouse during normal working hours and our technicians are on call, 7 days a week.

Q: Are your servicemen trained, drug tested, and in uniform? Do you have permanently Lettered trucks?

  • A: Sunshine’s fully trained, uniformed technicians drive trucks with our logo proudly displayed. Companies that don’t identify their trucks may not be a licensed business.

Q: Are your service technicians and installers paid hourly or commission?

  • A: Sunshine pays hourly; commission only employees may have the tendency to sell you something you don’t really need.

Q: Is your business a member of the Better Business Bureau?
